San Francisco Market Update - January 2025

Friends, clients and perfect strangers are all asking me what the 2025 San Francisco real estate market has in store for us. If only I knew!

Instead, I’m learning to say “I don’t know” and then lean into not knowing. As Ursula K. Le Guin wrote, “The only thing that makes life possible is permanent, intolerable uncertainty; not knowing what comes next.”

As always, it’s a house-by-house and block-by-block proposition, and potential sellers and buyers would do well to focus on their specific needs and goals rather than the unpredictable future of market trends (as unsatisfying as that may be).
