Worth Reading: Quality Villains Prefer Modernist Design

Writings about residential real estate and all things home, by Cynthia Cummins of Kindred SF Homes

Elaborate baroque-rococo-Gothic designs are no longer the mainstays for nasty, evil, meancing characters. Think Ex Machina or The Invisible Man instead of Crimson Peak or The Others.

This is a fun New Yorker read about how perfectly modernist architecture lends itself to creating the creepiness we crave in horror, thriller and suspense movies (just in time for Halloween): “When modernist homeowners aren’t outright creeps, they often tend toward a moral gray area, hovering between good and evil.”

Tell me, what sort of homeowner are YOU?
