Name a book you loved as a kid. Is there a line or character you remember?
As a kid and as a former teacher, my all-time favorite is any Doctor Seuss book. One of my favorite quotes, attributed to Dr. Seuss, is “We are all a little weird and life’s a little weird, and when we find someone whose weirdness is compatible with ours, we join up with them and fall in mutual weirdness and call it love.”
What did you last read? Thumbs up or down?
A House In The Sky (by Amanda Lindhout and Sara Corbett). I really enjoyed it and I give it a thumbs up.
In your next life you can be a lion, a tiger or a bear. Which do you choose and why?
A bear. Because they’re just so big and cute and they live in the woods and you can snuggle with them. It’d be like a permanent camping trip.
What is something you learned from a parent that turned out to be wise?
Don’t count on anyone else to take care of you and see you through. You have to do things on your own.
There’s a new interior paint color based on you and your life. What’s its name and why?
Avett. It’s a nice grey color that matches my dog. He’s sitting right in front of me now and he’s so cute!
What in the world gives you hope?
A new year, a new presidency, a new change.
It’s teatime. What’s your order?
(Without hesitation) Well, I do English breakfast with a little cream and Splenda. And some kind of pastry. Anything sweet. Maybe a blueberry muffin.
