SF Market Update for April 2026

I count at least four adjectives in the "Local Lowdown" of our most recent market update that make me sit up and pay attention. Words used to describe the current San Francisco market include exceptional, extraordinary, remarkable and -- one you don't see too often -- explosive. Let's hope that last one isn't literal.

Prices up, inventory down, everything selling at breakneck speed, and every agent I know nearly exhausted by the heat of the moment. How long can this go on? I can't say. But one thing's for sure: If you've been asking yourself "Is this a good time to sell my longtime home?" I can answer in the affirmative. Yes, this is a good time to sell your longtime home. Maybe the best time ever.
